Winter Wonderland?

I'm not sure how wonderful THIS is. Wow, are we getting dumped on! Since the beginning of the weekend, I think we have had about 16 inches of snow here.
The kids were thrilled. School was cancelled. Bonus! I decided to use the day to catch up on some laundry, email and work on a sock. (Not the grey ones, ugh, I am still not done with those.)
------
I also finished another little project today. A neckwarmer to match my fingerless mitts.
I took my What-knot scarf pattern and made a shorter version, crocheted on an edging and used a one-of-a-kind handmade button to finish it off. I think it will be perfect!

I will not ever confess how much I spent on the button, but it was so perfect with the yarn that I couldn't pass it up. Plus I am supporting an artisan who works hard to make something very special, which is good for both of us, right?

The button is cool. Before you ever mentioned a cost I thought that it was the focal point of the scarf. Very pretty.

The snow is pretty too. Hope it's not too much of an inconvenience.

I love that button - and just remember - it was worth it!

Glad you stopped by my blog. In answer to your question --- I'm not sure how difficult they are to grow. I killed the first one, but I think it was because the drainage holes in the pot were blocked. I thought I would be more careful with this one. Check back in six months and see if Vlad is still here. ;-)

Your scarf looks great...I wanted a $15.00 button once and a friend who had the yarn store finally gave it to me. I've put that very button on 3 different projects and I still love it!

I'm suffering in the cold.

The button and scarf are very cool. The piles and piles of snow are cool if you didn't need to be somewhere!

The snow looks gorgeous! But boy am I glad I don't have to live in it. :-D

The scarf is just beautiful and the button matches perfectly. I can see why you couldn't resist it.

Brodie, as always, melts my heart. :)

Wow, you guys are getting pounded. We got about 2 inches yesterday. Just enough to look lovely but not enough to be a problem

Good scarf! Can you bring it if it ever stops snowing and you come to the shop?

Wow - that's a lot of snow in one shot. We've had pleanty here this year too - and I'm quite certain it isn't over yet.

Your scarf is gorgeous and the button is perfect. If it works for you and creates the effect you want, who cares what it costs!

Scritches to Brodie :)

Ah Brodie, what a life you have!

What a beautiful neckwarmer! It's so difficult to find just the right button for a project that when you do, you have to buy it no matter the price.

As for the Winter Wonderland - better you than me ;-)

Beautiful scarf! And just looking at that snow makes me want to put something warm on like that, not to mention I want to go make snow angels and throw a snowball and then go warm up my feet by a fire with some hot cocoa.

Heh--our pipes here froze two nights ago. Must have hit 31. Californian wimps.

Love your Little What-Knot! That crochet edging really makes it and the button...well, let's just say I too have been known to spend any amount for the "perfect" button, and it's always worth it. I'm not going to comment on the snow (bleh).
